Milk Recording Options

This service reduces the cost of recording by replacing the milk recorder with farm labour for the sampling. NMR will provide you with all the necessary training and equipment, so you can carry out your 4, 6 or 8 weekly recording.

We just need you or your farm team to provide us with samples, yield, animal events then our NMR Milk Recorder will collate this and send your samples to the labs for testing.

This option includes free online reporting from NMR's Herd Companion website or you can view results on your farm software program. 

NMR’s fully trained milk recorders are on hand to carry out your 4, 6 or 8 weekly recording. There is also a choice of non-factored (AM and PM recording) or factored (sampled on one milking only alternate AM/PM, and twice if milking three times a day).

To get the best service from them they will need access to all animal events including calving, service, PD, dry off, mastitis and lameness records.

The factoring option means that you only need to sample on one milking (twice if milking three times a day), and this should be done alternately morning and afternoon.

This convenient service means less visits to the farm but still accurate results using our factoring calculations.

Grazing4 and Grazing 4+ are milk recording services specifically designed for herds that 'seasonally calve'. The 4 recordings per year can be timed to suit the farm system, usually when most animals have just calved, 60 days post-calving, 10 weeks pre-drying off or just before drying off.

This gives maximum benefit from the recording and the milk sample, including peak and accumulative yield and cell counts, along with weights and percentages of butterfat and protein.
